alturki: Muslims urged to eliminate terror, extremism from society

SLAMABAD: Secretary General Rabita Al-Alam Al-Islam Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki has impressed upon the Muslims across the world to get united for elimination of terror, extremism and divisive forces since Islam is opposed to all such menaces and trends. He was addressing religious scholars belonging to various Muslim schools of thought here at the dinner hosted in his honour by acting Saudi ambassador for Pakistan Jassim M Al-Khaldi in Serena Hotel on Saturday.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki reminded that petty differences in different sects shouldn’t become curse and the Muslims should strive for narrowing down such differences. He opposed the idea of having quarrel about the religious philosophy and at least Islam shouldn’t be dragged in such controversies as it is religion of peace. The people who are resorting to killing others without any reason have no place in Muslim community. “Such people are source of defaming humanity’s best religion; Islam,” he added.

The dinner was also attended by leader of the House in Senate and Chairman ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq, PTI Central Leader Dr. Wasim Shehzad, Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Maulana Abdul Rashid Turrabi, Shia leader Dr. Fakharul Hasan Karrarvi, Chief of Jamiat Ahle-Sunat Maulana Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianvi, the Chief of JUI of his own faction Maulana Samiul Haq, former federal minister for Information, Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani and JUI-F leader Mufti Muhammad Ibrar.

Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki expressed his satisfaction over the religious harmony prevailing in Pakistan and said that Muslim countries should come to close each other in the wake of adverse developments against the Muslim community in various parts of the world.

Acting Saudi envoy Jassim Al-Khaldi in his speech while greeting Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki, said that Rabita is doing great services for the cause of Muslims at different forums.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki will have meetings with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain, Chairman Kashmir Committee of the Parliament and JUI Leader Maulana Fazalur Rehman and other leaders before returning home. Maulana Fazalur Rehman will host dinner in his honour tomorrow (Monday).
